YOUTH WEEK: Creative Writing

Learn creative writing techniques in this 2-hour workshop with local writing facilitators and

theatre makers Silvia Lehmann and Angela Brown. Let your imagination soar – and never be

afraid of the blank page again! We provide a safe, non-judgmental, and kind space with no

compulsory sharing.

Silvia Lehmann is artistic director for Denmark Baroque’s Fairy Queen: The Carnival which

incorporates opera, Shakespeare, circus, dance and theatre and is set to be performed

across the Labour Day weekend in March 2024. Be part of creating a local, contemporary

script for this exciting extravaganza!

We’ll be exploring in writing questions like: 

- What is your personal relationship to the wild places around Kwoorabup/Denmark?

- Have you ever experienced nature as supporting/carrying you?

- Have you ever experienced nature as a demon to be reckoned with - unexpected and

fierce, forcing a loss of control on you?

- Is nature, or the nature spirits, urgently asking us to ‘do better’ with nature - and what is

your personal response to this?
