School Holiday Activity: Deck-Out at Skateboard

THIS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!

Attention teens and soon-to-be-teens!

Get your skates on and come along to the Artshouse this October school Holidays...

Get your own blank skateboard to paint, decorate & make your own!

Come to both workshops, or just 1...**

Local artists Saira and Rose will teach you how to stencil, use spray paint and help you create a design for your own custom deck!

Once you're done, particpants will have the option to show it off at a real-life exhibition (for FREE) alongside custom skateboards by local skaters & professional Denmark artists in October. Sell it, display it, or keep it for yourself- up to you!

WORKSHOP 1 - Tuesday October 1st 11am-2:30pm(ish)

Stencilling, spray-painting

& painting your background

WORKSHOP 2 - Wednesday October 2nd 11am-2pm(ish)

Find your own style,

paint your own board

** HOW DOES IT WORK/ DO I HAVE TO COME TO BOTH?

Boards will be given to any participant (included in the ticket price) who buys a ticket to both workshops (recommended), or just workshop 2.

ATTENDEES TO BOTH

If you've got a ticket to both workshops, we'll give you a board at workshop 1 to get started and help you plan for workshop 2

ATTENDEES TO WORKSHOP 2 ONLY

If you're just coming to workshop 2, you can start your board at home or work on a design to bring in so you're ready to go for the day.

Don't worry if you don't finish, you can take it home with you once the workshop is over, or hang out at the ArtsHouse a bit longer.

ATTENDEES TO WORKSHOP 1 ONLY

If you're just coming to Workshop 1, sorry- we can't give you a board but we can still show you how to paint one. 

We'll have plenty of materials to practice what you learn

Places strictly limited- pre-purchase of places is a must! We may not be able to accommodate you if you show up on the day, unannounced.

*this workshop is more suited to teens and older/ mature kids due to the content of the workshops and materials used.

Little hands and minds aren't suited for spray cans, sorry!

 

MATERIALS

All painting materials supplied and included in the price (including boards)

SPRAYPAINTS: For the safety of young lungs, we will be using solvent-free acrylic spray paint

However, you're welcome and encouraged to bring extra paints, paintbrushes and markers if you have things you really like to use.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING

Sketchbook/ paper and pencils 

Clothes you don't mind getting paint on!

Comfortable shoes

Sun protection (we'll be outdoors for part or all of the workshops)

Parents can hang around but as this is for older kids, we hope you feel comfortable letting them do your thing while you do yours for a few hours...
