About the event
Jazztrix will present a tribute to mark the 100 years since the birth of jazz innovator and trumpet player Miles Davis.
The 100 year celebration will include a live performance of the best-selling jazz album 'Kind of Blue' in its entirety, followed by a selection of a wide range of pieces from Miles' artistic journey.
"As a jazz trumpet player, Miles Davis' music has had a tremendous influence on my playing," said Jazztrix' trumpet player David Rastrick. "Both in terms of adaptability in innovation in style, and intensity and presence in my trumpet playing."
Ever changing to suit the mood of the day, Miles Davis was at the forefront of several movements in jazz, from Bebop to cool jazz and modal jazz, free-jazz, jazz-rock-fusion, third-stream and Doo-Bop.
