The Girl Next Door steals one of her mother’s favourite dresses, and Virginia has a scandalous dream about Dick Van Dom; but what happens next is where the real trouble begins…

‘Ignorance was Bliss’ is a vibrant contemporary dance work that fuses dance, theatre, film, lighting and music. It is inspired by a certain euphoria that existed back in the day, stemming from the absence of globalism, enabling familial bubbles to foster communities untethered to the wider world; this naivety allowed people to remain present and free.

Immersed in nostalgia, sentimentality and sprinkled with a bit of wry humour, ‘Ignorance was Bliss’ takes you on a whimsical journey through a bygone era. Join us as we step into the past to uncover what valuable lessons it can teach us about ourselves today.

Featuring a curtain warmer performance developed over 2 workshops, starring local & emerging Denmark and Albany teen and tween lovers of dance.
