Bounce Back is a collaboration between local artists to produce workshops in theatre, music, puppetry, projection, circus and dance. Bounce Back is a fun, skill-filled school holiday workshop program that culminates in a showing!

About the event

Exploring themes of resilience through circus, acrobatics, theatre and puppetry; Bounce Back is a series of workshops with a short performance outcome for young people aged 10 -17 and will be presented between 28 Sept and 1 October during the school holidays.

There are price options for members and non-members of Denmark Arts. This is to encourage Denmarkian's to join the new Denmark Arts membership program. The Youth Membership options are below or can be found here.

Associate Membership for ages 12-14: Free Ordinary Membership for ages 15-17: $25 per year

What to expect:

Intro to circus skills: parkour, juggling (from clubs to pois, hoops, contact juggling, dragon stick) music, dancing, slacklining, Roue Cyre (dancing wheel), trapeze, stilts, unicycling etc..

What to take:

Please bring lunch and a water bottle. Wear loose, comfortable clothes for circus and theatre activity. (Extra points for originality: "be who you want to be" )  

Bounce Back is being run by local artists Zak Launay, James Gentle, Olly Watkins and Marie Dwyer from Denmark Circus Collective and Patrick Considine and Ruby Hughes from Denmark Youth Theatre, plus an array of other local talent. The project aims to teach kids new skills and create a supportive space that highlights the importance of coming together to feel a sense of belonging. 

This is a pilot project, which is an initiative of the Denmark Circus Collective and is operating under the auspice of Denmark Arts. The project has been seeded by a small grant from the Shire of Denmark. Participating artists are only being reimbursed for their contribution through income from the workshop fees.
