Upcycling Youth Workshop

Join local textile artists, Tessa Moncrieff and Amber Launay for a workshop focussed on Upcycling. In this workshop participants will generate ideas for the Youth Upcycled Fashion Show happening on April 12th at Denmark Arts. They will have the opportunity to work on skills in drawing, hand sewing, applique, embroidery, embellishment and using the sewing machines.

Participants are encouraged to bring along a second hand item of clothing to work with in the session. Other fabric, thread, fabric paint, materials and sewing tools will be provided.

Fast Fashion is creating a huge textile waste issue which extends all over the world. In Denmark, the Green Skills Tip Top and two local Op-shops are overloaded with clothing and regularly divert a lot of materials to land fill primarily due to not having the capacity to store, sort and hang.
