Denmark Market Sunday 24 January 10am - 4pm Berridge Park

December Market
The Denmark Markets

Denmark’s residents and visitors are invited to enjoy the family friendly atmosphere at the Denmark market. Children’s entertainment, healthy food and fresh produce complement the selection of quality arts and craft stalls. Berridge Park comes alive with the hustle and bustle of market activity. The ever popular Kid’s Tent will run craft activities until 1pm and face painting all day.

The day features Swinging Jazz, Gipsy Tango and Smokey Blues to entertain the market crowd

Local band SUNDANCERS will start off the day at 10am. Tony, Dave, Debs and Katie come together to play boppy, poppy covers and originals to dance to.

Next in Line is well known local band MOODSWINGZ with their swinging jazz grooves, Dave Rastrick on trumpet and vocals, Joel Barter on percussion, Colin Reeves on guitar and Mark Tupman on bass.

ZIGATANGO combine the irresistible energy of traditional dance music with a sense of melancholy, drama and passion. With occasional forays into folk and jazz (and even 70s rock), Zigatango is bound to appeal to anyone with a taste for the exciting and unusual.

MAMA KIN, the chanteuse with an entertaining difference, releases her bittersweet melodies with stomping piano rhythm. Her sound is steeped in New Orleans smoky swamp tradition, and the music is an expression of Rhythm And Blues at it’s most literal interpretation. Born into a family steeped in music, Mama Kin has breathed the air of musical expression, filled her lungs and soul with it, and built her yearning in its language.

Mama Kin is currently touring with The Waifs and booked for Womad, Woodford, Peats Ridge and Mullum Festivals, the odd spin on Triple J and picked up Single of the Week in the iTunes store.

Albany based ARONS CRUSADE, Annabelle Harvey and Brendan Gaspari play a diverse, electric mix of folk, roots and rock. Home grown and life inspired.

The day will finish with the fun sound of the UKULELE BROTHERS, John Davey, David McKenzie and Michael McLoskey, performing their satirical take off’s of well known tunes.
