Nikki Green

Nikki Green has had a career as artist, designer and educator for the last twenty years. From Sydney to Melbourne and now,  her resting place here in Denmark. Read on to for more about Nikki’s ‘hats’…

Nikki as Designer:

Beginning as an Interior Designer in Sydney, Nikki had a business designing wrought iron furniture and accessories, as well as designing exhibition stands for numerous trade shows.  Currently, Nikki’s design skills focus primarily on graphic design, making brochures, posters, flyers, CD designs and developing logo and concept designs. She works collaboratively with artist/photographer, Nic Duncan under the name of NIX2 Design

Nikki as Artist:

In her art practice, Nikki completed a Bachelor in Fine Art majoring in Printmaking at the National Art School in Sydney. Her unique style blends the Australian landscape with her Jewish heritage, combining the essence of the ‘land’ with the symbolism of the ‘letter’. She specialises in illuminated manuscripts/documents that decorate the life cycle – for events such as births, coming of age, marriages and deaths. Her work has been commissioned nationally and internationally. Nikki also paints and exhibits her work regularly.

Nikki as Arts Worker

Maintaining a passion and dedication for community arts, Nikki has been the artistic director and coordinator of a range of different community and cultural events. In the late 90’s, she was artistic director of the Sea Theatre Festival (Coastal Walk from Bondi to Bronte in Sydney;). Nikki’s most recent project is the Gondwana Youth Arts Project, which aims to creatively engage young people across the South West in their local environment.

Nikki as Educator:

It was only recently that Nikki decided that she wanted to share her creative passion with young people. Nikki completed her Diploma in Secondary Education at Melbourne University in 2005, to find work heading the Art Department at Mentone Girls Secondary College. Since arriving in Western Australia (2008), Nikki has taught at North Albany Senior High School and has run adult courses in art, design and printmaking. She is currently teaching art at Denmark High School, where Nikki brings her life experience as artist, designer and community arts worker to the classroom.
